Red-bellied Woopecker....Centurus carolinus



My focus or my eyes were not working very well on this one...LOL Oh well...he is still a nice looking Red-bellied Woodpecker...enjoying an afternoon snack.....

Bill, it has a red patch on it's belly too. Hang some Suet out in those trees out back...he will visit you also.

Still in all a good close-up, photo! I like it!
Yesterday I took down all my hanging feeders to clean up and put away until next spring and replaced them with suet blocks. I wish I could at least keep a couple millet seed feeders because the birds love it so, but with Albany, Oregon's wind and rain it is a waste of good seed. I wish I could figure out a way to protect the seed from the wet wind but other than an enclosure (and that wouldn't be safe for the birds) I don't see a way to do it. Do you have any ideas? But believe me when I say rain and wind I mean RAIN and WIND, LOL
