That is Suet Bill. You can get it anywhere....Grocery store/Wal-Mart/Hardware stores/...even the local drug store....LOL Cheap too about a buck a cake...the birds love it. Great Sunrise today....awesome display of colour...especially combined with the leaves turning.....
Oh Hey Bill...you can even make your own Suet too....or just grab a pine cone....take some peanut butter...cover the cone...then dip is some wild bird seed....hang it off any limb/overhang....near a window and the birds will flock to it.
I've just put out my bird feeders...the LBJ's (Little Brown Jobs)are hungry. That's what I call sparrows and such.
But nothing as pretty as your wood-peckers. The wood-peckers where I am are quite a bit bigger; they are the red-crested pileated variety.
I have the Pileated Woodpecker here also Spidey.....I just don't have any good clear pic's of them...Hopefully I can get some good ones, after the leaves have fallen. I'll be trying....:o)
