When walking in the woods.....or in your yard.....you don't expect to look up to find a snake.....but it happens.....

It is just a common "Black Rat Snake".....Elaphe obsoleta
I've never seen a snake in a tree in my part of the world so I'd be surprised indeed to see one. Neat pictures. :)
