Lovely color on that guy there! And you're right - looks like they have quite the jaw muscles (if jaw is what you would call it ...)
Hey Bill,
I think them being rather aggresive and the brite red colour may go along with their dominate traits. Even much larger birds appear to fear them. I have not ever seen any larger bird dominate them. Maybe the Speed and Red colour add to their ability to intimidate other birds and animals?? I'll have to do a little research and see what I can find out.
